A private performance of “The Wandering Israeli” along with a visit to Kibbutz Mishmar Hasharon, a hidden gem far off the tourist track midway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, is one of the most all-encompassing Israeli cultural experiences.

Mishmar Hasharon rose to “fame” when Ehud Barak, who grew up on the Kibbutz, became Lt. General of the IDF and later the Prime Minister of Israel. On a more humble note, Mishmar Hasharon also served as a major inspiration for the creation of “The Wandering Israeli”. The show’s creator, Elad Shippony, was adopted by the kibbutz as a lone soldier and spent many years living and falling in love with the life of a “kibbutznik”. As part of “The Wandering Israeli” project, Elad performs the show on the same Kibbutz where his own Israeli journey began.

A visit to Mishmar Hasharon begins with a stroll through the pastoral pathways of the Kibbutz with kids roaming freely and people smiling as you pass them by. Along with intriguing kibbutz stories, Mishmar Hasharon also boasts an impressive Kibbutz museum, an old weapon stash from the British mandate era, and many more charming spots.

After absorbing this special Kibbutz atmosphere, the group is treated to a private performance of “The Wandering Israeli” where they’ll get to experience a theatrical version of the country they are visiting, including stories from the very Kibbutz they are on – in the same venue the show took its very first steps.

This unique Israeli Kibbutz experience concludes with lunch at the communal dining hall, where a hearty portion of lively chatter is served fresh daily.

Elad has traveled the world with this show, performed it over 600 times in English, Spanish and Hebrew and regularly a the Cameri, Israel’s National Theater in Tel Aviv. Yet, when Elad is performing on Mishmar Hasharon, “It’s extra special,” he admits, “because I get to share not only my stories, but also my home.”
